William M. Tyner Sr. of Muskogee, OK passed away Saturday, December 26th at the age of 90. William was born in Cambria, Illinois to Henry and Reba Tyner on March 15th 1925. He enlisted in the Navy in 1943 where William served for over 20 years until he retired honorably as a 1st Class Yeoman. He then worked at the VA Hospital in Muskogee, OK until he retired. William was a member and Deacon of Lawrence Street Baptist Church. His love of the Navy is great but because of his faith in Christ he will always be remembered as a cherished child of God. William was preceded in death by his father Henry Tyner; mother Reba Tyner; step-mother Demova Tyner; daughter Barbara Carol Tyner; sisters, Roma Modglin, Lana Kay Tyner Sonnier, and June Martin; and brother, Donald Tyner. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 70 years, Jacqueline Carol Tyner; daughter, Cheryl and husband, Kenneth Stiegler of Massachusetts; son, William M. Tyner, Jr. and wife, Dortha of Arkansas; 4 grandchildren; Rita Stiegler of New Mexico, Wendy Legee of Massachusetts, Mellena and husband, Michael Driver of Arkansas, and Michael Tyner of Arkansas; 9 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers- in-law, Greta Whitecotton of Illinois, Jolene and Derril Masters of Illinois, and Delorse and Jack Leeper of Illinois; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Monty and Monica Tyner of Illinois, and Gary and Paula Tyner of Illinois. Viewing will be at Tuesday, December 29, 2015 between 10am-8pm and Wednesday, December 30, 2015 between 8am-8pm. A funeral service celebrating the life of William will be held Thursday, December 31, 2015, 12:00 noon at Lawrence Street Baptist Church with Bro. John Curtis officiating. Burial to follow at Fort Gibson national Cemetery. The family has entrusted Bradley Family Funeral Service with the arrangements.
