Catoosa, OK - Steven Edward James, 68, of Catoosa, Oklahoma, and formerly of Muskogee and Tahlequah, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026.

Born on November 30, 1957, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Steve was known for his quick wit, sharp sense of humor, and ability to make those around him laugh. He approached life with intelligence, determination, and a genuine appreciation for family, friends, and the outdoors.

Steve graduated from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology. Throughout his career, he worked as an Industrial Engineer across a variety of industries and facilities, bringing his knowledge, skill, and problem-solving abilities to every role he held.

Outside of work, Steve enjoyed spending time on the golf course, hunting, fishing, and sharing his love of music. An accomplished bassist, he enjoyed playing both the upright bass and electric bass throughout his life.

Steve's humor, wisdom, and presence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on through the family and friends whose lives he touched.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and DeNola James.

He is survived by his sons, Joshua James and Adam James; his daughter-in-law, Roxann James; his grandchildren, Alexander, Logan, Marshall, and Phillip James; and his sister, Ann Lewallen.
