Robert Lee (Bob) Reavis, 98, passed away on Friday, May 13th at Haskell County Nursing Center, Stigler, Oklahoma. Bob was born on December 18, 1917, the sixth child of eleven, to Andrew David Reavis and Nellie Grey McGuire Reavis. Bob married Viena Veleda "Burrows" Reavis on July 1, 1939, and to this union two daughters were born: Judith Lee "Reavis" Hadley and Linda Janelle "Reavis" Martin.
Bob wore many hats and had many roles in his 98 years of life. He was a son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great - great grandfather. He began his career as a WPA worker, ice man, coco cola man, bread man, auto parts dealer, Ford Parts Dealer, filing station owner, World War II Veteran, and retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital in Muskogee. He was a 65 year member of the Masons, life member of the VFW in Stigler, life member of the DAV, and life member of American Legion Post 22. Bob belonged to the Main Street Baptist Church in Stigler. Many that knew Bob knew him as a rancher and horse trader; however everyone knew him for his quick wit, storytelling, and wonderful sense of humor.
Later in life Bob loved to travel with his second wife Melva C. "Nolen" Reavis whom he married on September 9, 1988.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Veleda, daughter Janelle and son-in-law Charles Martin, brothers and sisters George (Girty) Reavis, Bill (Opal) Reavis, Bessie Reavis (George) Fowler, Dessie Reavis (Leland) Ford, Boyd (Retha) Reavis, Fannie Reavis Henderson, Ethel Reavis Donat, Estel (Wanda) Reavis, Melvin "Red" Reavis, Bettie Joe Reavis Dickson.
Left to cherish his memory ishis wife Melva, his daughter Judy and son-in-law Bill Hadley, step son Bill (Judi) Lane, step-daughter Jackie (Glen) Pryer, sister-in-law Pat Reavis, brother-in-law John Dickson. Grandchildren: Billy Bob Hadley, Lee Bob (Shirley) Martin, Jana Martin, Tobey (Carla) Hadley, Sr., and Melissa Hadley. Great grandchildrenCodi (Josh) Barnett, Cody Hadley, Hannah Moore, Daniel Martin, Hailey (Sami) Mofadi, Holly Jo (Dillon) Caldwell, Sarah Hadley, Casey (Kasha) McKinney, Kameron (Casey) Ramirez, Tobey Hadley, Jr., Mason Martin, Jessica McKinney, Cheyanne Buzan, Brenna Haley, and Austin Haley. Great Great Grandchildren: Tenli and Timber Barnett, Ethan Moore, Henley and Logan Mofadi, Cameron Ramirez, and Tatum Frits.
Bob leaves behind many family and friends and was loved and respected by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by the Stigler Community.
Pallbearers are Cody Hadley, Daniel Martin, Casey McKinney, Tobey Hadley, Jr., Mason Martin, and Kameron Ramirez.
Services will be held Monday, May 16, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Mallory Chapel with Reverend Daniel Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Garland Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler.
Family will visit with friends on Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 2pm to 5pm.
