Robert Eugene Kershaw, Jr., passed from this earth Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021 surrounded by his family.

Robert was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on June 13, 1953 to Robert Sr. and Liz Kershaw, their second child and only son. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic Elementary School, Alice Robertson Middle School, and graduated from Muskogee High School in 1971. He was involved in numerous sports and clubs throughout the years. Robert attended the University of Tulsa and earned a bachelors in business administration and the University of Arkansas where he earned a Master's degree in public accounting. He practiced accounting in Muskogee up until the time of his death.

December 1, 1985 Robert married the love of his life, Kathryn Sue Reecer. They welcomed a son, Robert LeRoy in October of 1986 and a daughter, Katie Grace in February 1988.

Robert enjoyed working. There was no such thing as free time for him, which was his preference. When asked when he would retire, he joyfully told his kids and friends, "I'll quit working when I'm dead!" and hat's exactly what he did. Robert conducted business as usual until his last day. He also enjoyed staying busy at his farm and was always carrying out new ideas for improvement. He will be remembered as the king of one-liners, very quick witted, and extremely hard working.

In the last months of Robert's life he spoke openly of his faith. An excerpt from his sister Anne describes it perfectly, "...The mighty love of Jesus grasped his heart firmly and held him close. He expressed repentance for sins and marveled at the love of God toward him. He also spoke openly, in awe of the many little daily miracles worked by God's Spirit through ordinary believers of Christ (his friends, neighbors, family, and even strangers) that sustained him and grew his faith... in a word, he was chosen by God. He believed in Christ as his savior and now he is with Him for eternity. Amen."

Robert is survived by his wife, Kathy Kershaw of the home; son Robert and wife Megan Kershaw of Midwest City, OK; daughter Katie and husband Tyler Graves of Wichita, KS; his mother Mary Elizabeth Kershaw of Asheville, NC; sisters Peggy Kershaw-Stevens of Fort Gibson, OK and Anne Kershaw-Archerd and husband Chuck of Asheville, NC; five grandchildren Hank, Nora, Rhett, Griffin, and Millie, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones.

As Robert requested, a private burial was on Tuesday, November 9, 2021.
