Maxine M. Pingleton, of Muskogee, passed away Thursday evening, April 7, 2016 at the age of 90 years. She was born July 13, 1925 in Ft. Gibson to Arthur Leon and Bertha G. (Rogers) Roberts.
She married Earl Pingleton April 27, 1944. Maxine was manager for the camera and jewelry department at K-Mart for twelve years retiring in 1984. She enjoyed bowling and was a long-time member of River Side Christian Church and the Women's Bowling League. She was an avid fan of OU basketball and football and the Atlanta Braves baseball.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Bertha Roberts; her husband, Earl; her son-in-law, Jim Harper and two brothers, Leon and Harold Roberts.
Maxine is survived by her daughter, Earline Harper of Muskogee; her grandchildren, Toni Sherman of Muskogee, Tana Spears of Ft. Gibson, Jason Harper of Kellyville and Jared Harper and wife, Billie, of Twin Hills; twelve great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Lou Woods of Owasso; sister-in-law, Edith Armstrong of Tulsa and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 11, 2016, at Three Rivers Cemetery in Okay with Sharon Miller officiating.
Arrangements and services are under the direction of Hersman-Nichols Funeral Home.
