Marilyn Joyce Randall Stout
Marilyn Joyce Randall Stout, 87, of Bixby, Oklahoma, formerly of Muskogee, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 8, 2019. She was born August 16, 1932 in Topeka, Kansas to Frank Albert Nesmith and Eugenia (Kistler) Nesmith. She grew up and attended schools in Topeka, Kansas, graduating from Ball High School with the class of 1949. She then attended Bacone College and the University of Akron, Ohio, studying with Dick West, and obtained her Associates Degree.
She enjoyed a long professional career in administration. Some of the administrative positions she held during her career included Field Service Rep for the Office of Surface Mining with the U.S. Department of Interior; Director of Constituent Services for Senators Bartlett and Bellman. She also worked with the University of Texas as a Medical Photographer.
Marilyn found great joy in public service. She was actively involved serving on the Boards at the Kelly B. Todd Center, Habitat for Humanity, and also serving many hours with the Muskogee General Hospital Auxiliary Volunteers. Her hobbies included playing Mahjong, Bridge, and attending meetings with the Republican Party of Muskogee. She was a loyal member of First Presbyterian Church of Muskogee.
Marilyn married Tom Clarkson Stout on May 7, 1982 in Galveston, Texas. They shared many years of life and marriage together.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Eugenia Nesmith; sister, Sally Jean Walker; brother, Kenneth John Nesmith; nephew, Michael Walker and her husband, Tom C. Stout.
She is survived by her children, Alison Navas and her husband Dexter of Sacramento, CA, Paul Randall and his wife Shawn of Green, OH, Jon Randall of Wagoner, OK and Beth Wilkinson and her husband Kevin of Bixby, OK; grandchildren, Jacob, Grace, Sarah, Taylor, Katie, Emily, Natalie, Elijah, Elexia and Sofia; aunt, Marjorie Brazelton of Florida; several nephews, Doug Walker and family of Bryan, TX, Hal John Walker and family of Louisville, KY, Steve Walker and family of Alvin, TX, and Monty Granger and family of Clute, TX; niece, Cinda Kelley and family of Washington; and many other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends 2PM-4PM, Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, Marilyn's family suggest memorials be made to C.O.T.A. (Children's Organ Transplant Association),
A celebration of Marilyn's life will be 11AM, Monday, December 16, 2019 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phillip Stephens and Rev. Rex Wilkinson officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
