Lou Ella Harvey
Lou Ella Williams Harvey
August 5, 1922 - November 11, 2019

Lou Ella Harvey, 97, bowled her first frame in heaven on November 11, 2019. She was born August 5, 1922, in Bennington, Oklahoma to Carlisle Hodges and John Williams. She graduated in 1940 from Achille High, where she was a four year letterwoman playing all positions on the basketball team. She married the love of her life, Dr. Robert (Bob) Harvey, in 1942, and they settled in Muskogee where they raised three daughters: Linda, Carole, and Sue. She worked for Muskogee Public Schools for 25 years. She volunteered in many social activities including Muskogee General Hospital (4500 hours), food pantry, Lions Club, Red Cross, tutoring, and was active in square dancing and bowling where she carried a 168 average well into her eighties. Family was most important to Lou and summer traveling and get-togethers were routine. After Bob's death, she stayed active with volunteering and hostessing bus tours.
In later years, she moved to Oklahoma City to be closer to family and in her small neighborhood, her front porch was the neighborhood meeting spot. Lou Ella was fiercely loyal to family and friends, and friends and acquaintances described her as kind, sweet, beautiful and always ready to give compliments, encouragement and lend a sympathetic ear. If you were lucky enough to know her, she left no doubt that you were important and she loved you.
Lou Ella leaves behind a family that will miss her love, including daughters Linda (Stan), Sue (Joe), (Carole and Bob predeceased her), seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of a service, the family asks that you kindly remember her grace, love, and kindness on Thanksgiving Day.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I remember when I met your mom years ago when Scott was just a baby. She was always so nice and kind to me. She is walking on streets of gold now. I pray you have peace at this time. I love you my dear friend!
