A funeral service honoring the life of John M. Williamson will be 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 in the Chapel at Hayhurst Funeral Home, Broken Arrow. Family and friends may visit the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. John passed away on Friday, May 20, 2016. He was 82 years of age.

John was born at St. John Hospital in Tulsa, OK on his father's birthday, October 20, 1934 to Dr. J. Albert and Mayme Williamson. John attended Central High School with the Class of 1953 and graduated from OMA and OSU. He was employed by City of Tulsa, ORU and the City of Muskogee as an HR Director until his retirement in March 1996.

John married Sharon Bowie on April 3, 1986 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. John was a wonderful husband. He was a good provider and in his later years he was actively involved with community service.

Through his lifetime he served in many volunteer capacities including youth baseball, Boy Scouts, Jenks Band Parents, United Way, the Better Business Bureau and for the last 9 years with a basic needs agency, Broken Arrow Neighbors. He also served as a Labor Contract Negotiator and Arbitrator for a large number of municipalities as a Management Advocate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Broken Arrow Neighbors, 315 W. College St., Broken Arrow, OK 74012.

John is survived by, Wife, Sharon Williamson, Broken Arrow, OK; Children, John Howard Williamson, Sapulpa, OK and Kathryn Scott, Sand Springs, OK.

John was preceded in death by his parents Dr. J. Albert and Mayme Williamson, daughter Lori Hougland and sister Barbara Williamson Horkey.
