Jean M. Kershaw Boehm, 86, of Muskogee, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2019, with her daughters by her side. She was born June 2, 1933 in Muskogee to LeRoy and Clara Harrison Kershaw. During her early years, she grew up on the Kershaw Ranch in Oktaha, Oklahoma before moving to Muskogee when she was 10 years old.

Jean attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Muskogee, Monte Cassino Catholic School in Tulsa then graduated from Central High School in Muskogee. She furthered her education at St. Mary's College in South Bend, Indiana. Jean graduated from St. John's Hospital School of Radiologic Technology in 1955 and from St. Francis Hospital's School of Radiation Therapy in 1975. She worked in the medical field in California and Oklahoma for 23 years.

She changed careers later in life, working as a "landwoman" for Texaco, Diamond Shamrock, and other companies before starting her own oil and gas company in 1980.

Jean enjoyed cooking, traveling, estate sales, and auctions, but most of all spending time with her four children, seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

Jean was a devout Catholic, following her mother's example by supporting various Catholic charities throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Robert Kershaw, her sisters, Elizabeth Kunkel and Patricia Lippman Montgomery, her twin sister, Joan Mary Putnam, and her son George N. Boehm II.

She is survived by her daughters, Julie Boehm McKee and Lisa Boehm Goebel of Muskogee, and daughter Sheila Boehm Collins and husband Tim of Enid, Oklahoma. Jean adored her seven grandchildren, Sarah Goebel Cunnius and husband Jeff, and Jeffory Goebel of Muskogee; Eric Majors and wife Melissa, Katie Majors Pratt and husband Justin, Ryan Majors and wife Ally, of the Tulsa area; Matthew Collins and wife Jacquelyn of Enid and Michael Collins and wife Stephanie of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Jean had ten great-grandchildren, Isaac, Ethan, Aiden, Alan, Alyssa, and Mailey of the Tulsa area; Rebecca, Jiggs, and Winston of Muskogee, and Rylee of Enid.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jean's name to either St. Joseph Catholic Church or St. Joseph Catholic School in Muskogee.

A Rosary Service will be held on Wednesday, October 30th at 7:00 p.m. in Fosters' Ivory Chapel at Foster-Petering Funeral Home in Muskogee. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday, Oct. 31st at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow in Greenhill Cemetery in Muskogee.
