James Edward Hill
James Edward (Jimmy) Hill of Muskogee, Oklahoma, 96, passed away December 11, 2019. He was born February 12, 1923 in Cement, Ok.
He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin S. and Lillian Madden Hill; sisters, Juanita Hill Davis, JoAnn Hill Braxton, and brother Jerry Hill.
Jimmy graduated from Will Rogers High School, Tulsa OK.
Jimmy joined the United States Army in 1942 serving with the 597th Signal Aircraft Warning Battalion throughout WWII near the Philippines, New Guinea, Morotia and Nearby Islands. He received an Honorable Discharge February 15, 1945.
Jimmy married his love, Wilma Catherine Cannon March 19, 1949 in McAlester, Oklahoma. They Shared more than 65 wonderful years together before her passing July 12, 2014.
Jimmy's lifelong career was with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. He retired as manager of the Muskogee SWB Office after 37 years of service.
Jimmy is survived by brother, Maurice Hill, sister-in-law Marilee Hill; daughters, Janice K. Hill, Jamie A. Hill Ritchie and husband Clifford Ritchie; grandsons, Gabe Hill and wife Cheri, J. Ed Hill and four great-grandchildren.
Jimmy loved music of all kinds, played the trumpet and he really loved the game of GOLF!
The Family would like to thank our very wonderful special friends Gennie Smith and Rhena Chesser for their loving care of our family, the beautiful friendship of Carl and Tracey Cox, Dr. Satish Kohli MD, and Tammy Stiles, PA.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 14, at Bradley Belltower Chapel with Alan McBroom officiating. He will be buried in Greenhill Cemetery next to his wife.
