Inez  Choat
Inez Choat, Boynton resident, passed away at her home on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the age of 102. She was born on Monday, September 17, 1917, the oldest living child of LB and Pearl Mangrum Pollard in Vivian, OK. Inez moved to California in 1939. She met Pete Choat and were married on November 7, 1941 in Leonard Wood, Missouri. They shared 49 years together before his passing on November 3, 1990. Later moving to the Boynton/Wainwright area where they spent the remainder of their lives. She retired from Teels Laundry in 1970. Inez enjoyed her Quilting Group at Wainwright and the Assembly of God Quilters (AG Quilters). She loved the Lord and working in the Church always finding good in Everyone! She was a Charter Member of Community Church in Wainwright and an Oklahoma Centurion. Inez was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Pete; her brothers, Ezell Pollard, Lawrence Pollard, Otis Pollard, Archie Pollard and Donald Pollard; her sisters, Beatrice Cole, Florence Cox, Audrey Emerson, Wilma Hall and Geneva Funk. She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Shirley Wheeler and her husband Jim of Boynton, and Linda Choat of Boynton; her 5 grandchildren, Tammy Thomas and her husband Charles of Checotah, Jimmie Lynn McMillen and her husband Jay of Okmulgee, Scott Moore and his wife Liz of Oklahoma City, Keith Barnes of Muskogee and Kelly Barnes and his wife Jessica of Choctaw; 8 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Inez is also survived by her two sisters, Mary Anson of Council Hill and Phyllis Hall and her husband Rod of Allons, TN; 22 nephews and 21 nieces as well as numerous family and friends.
Viewing will be from Noon-4PM on Monday, November 4, 2019 and 9AM-6PM on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 with her family greeting friends from 4-6PM at Garrett Family Funeral Home. Services celebrating the life of Inez will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Wainwright First Baptist Church with Reverend Sherman Dix and Revered Buddy Powell officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery under the personal direction of John Garrett. Burr Myers, Ronnie Reese, Jerry Pippin, DeWayne Guthrie, Terry Christain and Jerry Gerig will serve as Casket Bearers. Ronnie Pollard, DeWayne Pollard, Danny Anson, Sam Cox, James Cox, Roy Cole, Harold Conrad, Darrel Pollard, Ronald Hall, Roy Duvall and Bill Duvall will serve as Honorary Casket Bearers.
