William's Story

William Raymond Palmieri, 64 of Muskogee, passed away Sunday, October 22nd, 2016 in his home. He was born May 10th, 1952 to Paul and Juanita (Waddle) Palmieri in Methuen, Massachusetts.
As most friends know him by "Bill". Bill was raised in Muskogee and enjoyed boy scouts growing up. He was proud to earn the Eagle Scout award at the young age 14. During his high school years he worked for his parents at Boomerang Drive-In and Commercial Bank. He graduated from Central High school in 1970 and continued his education with OSU technology in Okmulgee. He became a programmer for the bank and also worked for a group that developed a central information file that was later used in automatic teller machines. During this time he also worked for his parents on weekends at Aalco Propane Company. He became a co-owner of Aalco Propane with Alan Lackey for 28 years, which included Aalco Television Service for 22 of those years. Bill retired in 2007 due to health issues. He proudly served on the OLPGA OMR&S Commission Boards for over 20 years. He worked the Indy 500 races for 17 years and the Brickyard 400 for 4 years as a night watchmen.
Bill married his best friend, Margaret on May 23rd, 1993 and enjoyed 23 years together. Bill loved photography, snorkeling, dive trips, boating, camping, and fishing all different types of fish but trout being his favorite. He loved horse racing, he raised and breed many horses. Mr. Bug Light was his pride and joy. He appreciated special race horse buddies Larry, Jim, and Lonnie.
Spending time with his grandkids is something that Bill always treasured. He wrote a special story about his "life likes" to be given to his grandchildren to let them know a little about their papa Bill.
He is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Juanita Palmieri.
Bill is survived by his wife, Margaret Anne Palmieri; daughter, Amy Buckmaster and husband Mickey; sons, Matt White and wife Brandy, Bart White and wife Bethany, Nick White and wife Brooke; grandchildren, Libby, Kate, Molly, Will, Roxie Grace, Jacob, Maddie, Cammie, Alli, Averi, Jaxon, Madelynn, Beckham, Leighton, Jack; mother-in-law, Betty Condley; Sister, Paula Beck and husband Don; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends that will miss him dearly.
A special thanks to Good Neighbor Hospice and Donna his nurse for 3 ½ years, for the kind and compassionate care they showed Bill and his family during this time. Also, a great appreciation to Joe Lightle, who as a minister became a close friend to Bill.
The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 26th, 2016 at Cornerstone Funeral Home.
Services celebrating the life of Bill will be at 10:00am, Thursday, October 27th, 2016 at Grace Bible Church with Minister Donald Hayes officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery with Mickey Buckmaster, Matt White, Bart White, Nick White, Don Beck, Paul Davis, and D.P. Louks serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will include Larry Steele, Steve Rush, Rock Dobson, Roy Campbell, Brad Campbell, Bobby Waddle, Lonnie Orman, Ronnie Coplan, Ernie Toney, David Buckmaster, Mike Kaad, Fred Haynes, Jim Wallace, and Cecil Collins.
