Michael Dean Reid, 49, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017. Michael was born in Everett, Washington on February 15, 1967 to Bill and Beverly "Jimmie" Reid. He graduated from Tahlequah High School. He received his Bachelor in Education from Northeastern State University and his Masters in Administration from The University of Central Oklahoma.
While he spent most of his career teaching and coaching in Muskogee, he also held numerous administrative positions throughout the state. Most recently, he served as the Accountability Director for Sapulpa Public Schools.
Michael married the love of his life, Linda July 5, 2001 in Eureka Spring, AR. They enjoyed traveling, working out, and spending time playing with their grandchildren.
Michael loved God and his family first and foremost. Anyone that knew him will tell you he was also proud of each and every student taught- and particularly those he coached in his years at Muskogee and El Reno. Michael had a great passion for running, and please don't call him a jogger, or worse, a pedestrian. He will tell you he was a runner.
He lived his life to the fullest every day. He was known as "Pop" by his grandkids and he regularly dressed up in a blanket cape and a crown to entertain them. He knew every word to "Let It Go," and he was quite proud of that.
He will be greatly missed by all those that loved him and those whose lives he touched.
Michael is preceded in death by his brother, William Heath Reid.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Kyle Reid of Tulsa, OK; parents, Bill and Jimmie Reid of Fayetteville, AR; son, Shawn Reid and fiancé Brittany and their children Camden Michael Tanner and Talon of Pryor, OK; son, Brandon Reid of Pryor, OK; daughter, Shannon George and husband Aaron and their children Kyle and Kory of Muskogee, OK, son, Bryan Cage and his wife Shawna and their children Riley, Ashely, and Nathan of Muskogee, OK, son, John Hasler, Jr. and his wife Amy and their children Gatlin Reid and Harper of Muskogee, OK; daughter, Caitlin Hasler and son Lincoln Dean of Muskogee; brother, Phillip Reid and wife Melissa of Fayetteville, AR; sister, Christina Stech and husband Brian of Barrington, UT.
