Margaret's Story

Text size

Mrs. Margaret Anne Turner, after 72 years with us, made her transition to life everlasting on Tuesday evening, November 1, 2016 from her home in Muskogee.
Margaret Anne Campbell Turner was born on February 3, 1944 to Thomas and Grace Campbell in Carstairs Junction, Scotland at 12 Noon. This beautiful, baby girl was a bundle of joy that came into the family full of grace and loved by everyone.
Her early schooling was in Scotland, where she enjoyed History and her best friend, Hannah the most. Margaret was a people person and she used this talent in her career starting out in the Hospitality Industry for several years.
At age 26, she met the love of her life and Henry was quite smitten with her beautiful smile. There was a whirlwind courtship that lasted seven years. On September 24, 1977, at Lakenheath RAF Chapel, they married and Margaret and Henry soon began a new life in the USA. Shortly thereafter caem their daughter, Danielle and she was their princess. There was never a dull moment with her around. Being an only child, she filled their life with much happiness.
It was a whole new world for Margaret, but she adjusted well, being a jolly, loving person. She kept herself occupied by knitting lovely items for the young and young at heart alike. When she wasn't knitting, she continued her hospitality career working at Kmart for 10 years and then on to Dogwood Creek as the Activities Director. She especially loved her work there and ti was a lot of joy for her giving her the chance to meet and make many lifelong friends. Just as much as she was given in friendship, she gave. She had a circle of girlfriends that was family from all around the world. The ladies were with her before and during her sickness and surrounded her with much love and care. Gitte, Fran, Pat, Lois, Pam, Elizabeth, Margaret, Rose, Wilma, Greg and countless others were all special to her. As Margaret would always say, "The door is always open, come and have a cup of tea."
Maragret acceepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Grace Church for many years. She belonged to Muskogee New Friends and R.S.V.P. She did Meals on Wheels for Grace and you could often find her running around town helping others.
Her greatest achievement was her family. She is preceded in death by her sister, Ruby Gallacher, of Devon, Scotland, and her brother, William Campbell of Carstairs Junction, Scotland.
She leaves in God's care; her husband, Henry R.M. Turner, of the home in Muskogee, Oklahoma; her daughter, Danielle Jardine and son-in-law, Alan Jardine, Clearwater, Florida; her grandchildren, Andrew and Skye Jardine; her brother, Thomas and sister-in-law, Georgie, Inverness, Scotland; her brother, James and Sister-in-law, Jeanette, Carstairs Village, Scotland; her brother David and sister-in-law, Adelaide, Australia; her brother John and sister-in-law, Constance, Lanark, Scotland; her sister-in-law, Betty Campbell, Carstairs Junction, Scotland; her sister-in-law, Diane Williams, Tulsa, Oklahoma; her brother-in-law, Jonathan Turner, Muskogee, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces and nephews, other family and friends.
