Loyd Jr Clopton, 81, of Fort Gibson, OK, was born June 22, 1935 at Fort Gibson, OK, the son of Sam and Bertha (Brondage) Clopton and died Monday, April 24, 2017 at Muskogee.
Loyd was a long time resident of Fort Gibson. On June 22, 1935 he married Deno Lucille Logston in Miami, OK. Prior to retirement, Loyd was a heavy equipment operator. For the last several years he was a regular at the Farmer's Market selling produce.
Survivors include his wife, Deno, of the home; children, Loyd Clopton of Muskogee, Tina Lumpkins of Porter, Mark Hoyd, Dorena Chambers and husband, Johnnie, John Clopton, Jim Clopton, Glen Clopton and wife, Trisha, all of Muskogee; special daughters, Tommie Beavers of Porter, Trena Clopton of Muskogee; brothers, Gene Clopton and Jimmy Clopton both of Fort Gibson; sisters, Ann Smith of Lubbock, Linda Snow of El Paso, Joyce Jordan of Sand Springs, Judy Yandell of Santa Maria, CA. Jr was known as "Junebug" to his grandchildren, those surviving him are: Tonya Alvarez, Ashley Lumpkins, Justin, Dustin, Austin, and Westin Storm, Chelsea Clopton, Bradley Burkett, Michael Durossette, and Samantha Sanchez; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Glen Clopton; two sisters, Wanda Maddocks, Lorene Osgood; daughter, Tammy Blankenship; granddaughter, Catherine Spencer; twin great-grandsons, Henry and Devon; daughter-in-law, Marie Clopton; and nephew, Jerry Clopton.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2017 at Lescher-Millsap Funeral Service Chapel in Fort Gibson with Reverend Pat Ford officiating. Pallbearers will be Billy Hughes, Jeremy James, David Hughes, Randy Clopton, Justin Storm, Austin Storm, and Westin Storm. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Hughes, Johnnie Chambers, Rockey Jones, Matt Nail, Jeff McLain and Hoy Storm. Burial will be in South Bethel Cemetery.
