Jerry Allen Royse, 71, passed away November 26, 2016 at St. Johns Hospital in Tulsa, OK surrounded by his family & friends after a battle with cancer.
He was born July 12, 1945 in Muskogee, OK to Troy & Wilma (Fletcher) Royse. He attended and graduated from Muskogee Public Schools in 1963. This was also where he learned his vocation & trade of printing. On November 23, 1964, Jerry married Linda Sanders & they had just celebrated 52 years of marriage.
From 1966-1968 Jerry proudly served his Country in the U.S. Army as a combat medic. He was stationed at Ft. Polk, LA, Ft. Sam Houston, TX and Ft. Bragg, NC. In 1975, Jerry opened Royse Printing Co. and with the help of his wife, Linda and his two sons, it is still in operation. He helped many boys from high school in the printing vocation.
Jerry also loved working on the farm that he and his family operate west of Muskogee. He loved the outdoors including deer hunting and fishing with his family. Some of Jerry's favorite times were spent going on his deer hunting trips with his sons, grandson, along with other family and friends. He also enjoyed playing Medal of Honor on the computer where he had made many friends all over the world. Jerry's smile was one of a kind. He had the biggest heart and would help anyone in need.
Jerry is survived by his wife Linda; sons, Dwayne and Darren; daughter-in-law, Stacy; grandchildren, Braden Kyle Royse and Bailey Ray Royse both of whom he loved to spoil; brothers, Ronnie Royse, Harold (Gail) Royse; sisters, Jo Evelyn Rolland, Helen (Rod) Brassfield; mother-in-law, Pauline Knight of McAlester; brother-in-law, Kenneth Burnes; along with many nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wayne Royse and Darryl Royse; and sister, Shirley Burnes.
Services will be at Oldham Memorial Baptist Church at 10:00 am on Thursday, December 1, 2016 with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kelley Brandon, Straude Lewis, Wes Johnson, Donald Royse, Greg Royse, and Jason Royse. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Hurst, Shan Royse, Brandon Royse, Brian Royse, Kevin Royse, Jeff Royse, Chris Rolland and Randy Rolland.
Jerry touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known him.
