Jerry W. Lewis, 63, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017. He was born November 24, 1953 to John "Jack" and Helen (Ricketts) Lewis, in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
He grew up and attended Muskogee Public Schools. During high school, Jerry wrestled and later did martial arts. After graduating from Muskogee High School in 1972, he went on to work for Pizza Hut setting up new locations all over the United States. Later he worked as a general manager for PaceSetter Corporation. His family remembers that he received many awards, trips, and promotions with his time there. He worked with PaceSetter for many years until he opened his own businesses, Quality Home Improvements and Green Country Home Improvement.
He liked watching Atlanta Braves baseball, golfing, and driving fast cars. Jerry enjoyed playing pool. He participated in several pool tournaments and won his way to Las Vegas to play in a national pool tournament. He had a passion for work and never complained while working. He was of the Baptist faith and grew up attending Grandview Baptist Church in Muskogee.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John "Jack" W. and Helen M. Lewis; sister, JoEllen Flippo; and niece, Jenna Flippo.
Jerry is survived by his sons, Chris T. Lewis and wife Theresa of Ardmore, OK, Jerrot M. Lewis of Houston, TX, and John "Aaron" Lewis of Muskogee, OK; grandchildren, Jacob and Jordan Lewis of Ardmore, OK, and Sabastian Hillyard-Lewis; nephew, Jon Curtis Flippo.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Mary McElwain and Conny Todd for their loyalty and compassion for Jerry.
A celebration of Jerry's life will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 27, 2017 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kelly Payne officiating.
