James's Story

James W. Dornan, 82, of Muskogee, Oklahoma entered Heaven's gates on Friday, February 3, 2017. He was born May 2, 1934 in Webbers Falls, Oklahoma to Fred W. Dornan and Beulah G. Hudspeth Dornan. James attended public schools in Webbers Falls and Riverside.
He married his best friend, Patsy June Nail, on October 7, 1955 at Hyde Park Baptist Church. They shared more than 61 years of life and marriage together.
He worked for Acme Engineering and retired in 1978 after 21 years of service.
James will always be remembered for his passion of being on his ranch and attending all the area cattle auctions. He loved walking around the pasture looking at his cows, horses, and mules. He also enjoyed wood crafting and gardening.
His family and faith were of upmost importance. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and loved their nickname for him, "Grumpy". He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
James was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Eunice Geneva Mangrum and Viola "Bo" Andyvine Crook.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy of the home; sons, Rusty Dornan and wife Anita of Keefeton, Gary Dornan of Okay, and David Dornan of Keefeton; grandchildren, Kristy, James David, Cheryl, Trisha, Kimberly, and Heather; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Willie D Dornan and wife Donna of Phoenix, AZ; several nieces and nephews; other family members and friends.
Funeral services celebrating James's life will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 6, 2017 at Keefeton Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Cardell Coppin and Pastor Danny Barks officiating. Interment will follow at Agnew Cemetery with Kevin William, James Key, Willis Jackson, Dudley Boydston, Travis Galliton, and John Perry serving as pallbearers.
