Helen Patricia (Bell) Meier, 85, of Cashion, OK, formerly of Pryor, OK died Wednesday, April 5, 2017 in Oklahoma City, with her loved ones surrounding her. She was born in Woodward, Oklahoma on February 17, 1932 to Joseph Bruner and Willa Claire (Jarmin) Bell.
She graduated Laverne High School in Laverne, OK in 1949 and went on to get an Associate's Degree from Enid Business College in Enid, OK. She married the love of her life, Alvin Eugene Meier, on July 7th, 1953 in Clayton, New Mexico. In 1972, they decided to make Pryor their home and raise their family. Helen began working in 1976 at the Pryor Hospital in data processing and continued working there until her retirement.
Helen was a member of the Lutheran Church and in her free time went antiquing with her friends. She was an avid collector of Boyd's Bears, OU Football and all things cowboy. However, her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, and grandmother and she will be greatly missed.
Survivors include two sons: Brad Meier and his wife, Holly of Tyler, TX and Dennis Meier and special friend Patti Rice, of Cashion, OK; three grandchildren, Amanda Snyder and husband Jason, Britney Lowery and husband Timothy and Michael Meier and girlfriend Kelbie Parish; and five great- grandchildren: Arysta and Cheyenne Snyder, Baylie and Timothy Lowery and Paislee Meier. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved Alvin, and two brothers: Joseph Bruner Bell III (J.B.) and Keith Leon Bell.
Graveside services will be Monday, April 10, 2017 at 2 pm at Fairview Cemetery in Pryor.
