Gertha Marie (Breshears) Field Allred entered through Heaven's gates Monday, August 28, 2017 at the age of 98.
Gertha was born December 7, 1918 the daughter of John and Lena (Conley) Breshears. She grew up in the Keefeton area, met George Field in church and they were married in June of 1937. They were blessed with five children and shared 23 years together before his passing on October 26, 1960. Gertha met and later married Charley Allred on October 5, 1970. They shared 14 years together before his passing on March 5, 1984. Gertha attended Keefeton Trinity Baptist Church for many years and later joined Keefeton Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting and gardening along with raising her children and grandchildren. She loved her cats and her little dog, Minnie; they were her babies.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lena; husbands, George and Charley; two sisters, Irene Crabtree and Edna Green; brother, Milo Breshears; great-granddaughter, Lacey Field; son-in-law, Jeff Buford. She leaves to cherish her memory children, Allen Garner and Deanna Field of Moore, OK, Oscar and Evelyn Field of Muskogee, Marie and Willie Blundell, Betty Buford, Jerry and Olympia Field all of Keefeton; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services for Gertha will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 1, 2017 at the Keefeton Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend Danny Barks and Reverend Cardell Coppin officiating. Pallbearers will be Mark Harris, Jud Scott, Dudley Boydstun, Speck Plunkett, Bruce Hans, and Bob Lewis. Burial will be in Agnew Cemetery under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home of Muskogee.
