Dr. Scott's Story
Scott Thomas Griffin, 43, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2016. He was born on April 10, 1973, in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Scott grew up in Muskogee, OK. He attended Muskogee Public schools and graduated in the class of 1991. Because of his love of animals he knew he wanted to be a veterinarian. Following high school, Scott attended Oklahoma University where he studied Genetics and Developmental Biology. At that time he became a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He then continued his education at Oklahoma State University - receiving his doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2000. After working with Dr. Larry Hamilton for several years he moved to Rogers, Arkansas where he owned and operated Animal Clinic of Rogers for over 10 years. Scott's hobbies consisted of playing golf, hunting, reading and cooking.
Scott is survived by his mother, Jane Durnil and her husband Mac of Muskogee; father, Tom Griffin and his wife Phyllis of Gainesville, TX; brother, Will Griffin and his wife Kim of Edmond; sisters, Lari Durnil of Tulsa and Courtney Bollich and her husband Bobby of Houston, TX; nephews and nieces, Jeff Gragg of Muskogee, Josh Griffin of Edmond, Ana and Mia Moazami of Tulsa, Quincy and Zachery Lambert, Willa Bollich of all of Houston, TX; uncle and aunt, Joe and Athlyn Pool of Muskogee; cousins; Robert Pool, John Pool and his wife Jordan, Meacham Pool and his wife Amy, all of Muskogee; uncle and aunt, Dan and Cliva Griffin of Ft. Worth, TX; cousins, Monty Griffin of Ft. Worth, TX, Joseph Griffin and his wife Lisa of Austin, TX and William Bolton of Chicago, IL; and a host of other family and friends to treasure his memory.
A graveside service will be held at Greenhill Cemetery Friday, November 18 at 11:00 am with Reverend David Burris officiating. Pallbearers will be Jeff Gragg, Josh Griffin, Brian Ketcham, John Pool, Meacham Pool, Robert Pool, and John Thompson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Taylor Foster, Andrew Thompson and Matt Wilkinson.
