Doyce "Mack" Breland, 72, of Muskogee, died Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center. He was born November 9, 1944 in Winona, Mississippi to Doyce and Talma (Burdine) Breland.
Doyce married Barbara McClary on July 19, 1968.
He served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He was a graduate of Spartan School of Aeronautics and became an aircraft mechanic for eight years. He worked for Fort Howard/Georgia Pacific from where he retired after 28 years.
Doyce was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carolyn; stepfather, Hilton Duke and brother, Michael Duke. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Breland of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Donne Breland of Sapulpa; daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Tom Short of Keefeton; stepmother, Annice Breland of Mathiston, MS; siblings and their spouses, Glenn and Denise Duke of Gulfport, MS, Linda and Gary Chesser of Starksville, MS, Ricky and Kathy Breland of Mathiston, MS, Michael Breland of Odessa, TX, Jimmy and Darlene Duke of Hobart, TN, and Charles Duke of Meridian MS; and four grandchildren; Baylie Short, Taylor Short, Bobby Breland and Bradley Breland.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Foster-Petering Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Keefeton Trinity Baptist Church with Brad Schell and Pastor James Taylor officiating. Casket bearers will be Clue Anderson, Jerry Riley, Marcus Logan, Rex Edwards, Cecil Swepston and Joe Wright. Honorary Casket bearers are Brown Chesser and Shannon Bell. Interment will follow in Agnew Cemetery.
