C. Edward's Story
C. Edward Rougier, Jr., beloved husband and father passed away on the evening of June 10, 2017 at his home. He was born on September 4, 1934 in Swampscott, Mass., and was raised in Lynn, Mass. He attended St. Jean Baptiste school for 12 years. In 1953 he was drafted by the Air Force and in 1954 was stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, SD. He was Crew Chief on a RB-36 plane and ferried planes from Rapid City, SD to Guam and was sent on classified missions to Korea. He was discharged in Oct of 1958. Ed spent his working years in the banking industry and held multiple positions with various banks. In 1977 he opened his own company, Colorado Banking Institute. He conducted seminars on various departments of the bank. In August of 2010 he would retire and close the business. Ed conducted a seminar in Muskogee, Ok where he met his current wife Judith Haas. She was working for Victor Savings and Loan. Ed and Judy split their time between Oklahoma and Colorado. Ed loved to travel, enjoyed a good game of golf and was a great skier. He loved his Broncos, Colorado Rockies and all sports. Ed is survived by his wife of 33 years Judy (Haas) Rougier, Daughter Robin Newberry. Grandchildren Ryan Haas and Courtney Ruiz. Great grandchildren Jaden and Lynae Ornelaz. His brother-in-laws Frances and Gene (Pat) Haas. His sister-in-laws Rowena Anderson and Helen Haas. Nieces and nephews Misty, Kaleb and Kylie Haas, Lisa and Jared Anderson, Jason (Krystal) and Brinley Haas, Ty Frisbie, Scott and Christy Haas, Karla Joyce, Kim Watson, Beverly Hill and Ashley Peek. His brother Russell (Janice) Rougier and Aunt Marion LeBlanc. His five children, fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Sylvia (LeBlanc) Rougier, sister Theresa (Rougier) Adrien, brother George Rougier, Kody Haas, Brother-in-laws Ed, Ken, and Jim Haas.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Horan & McConaty at 3101 S Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Horan & McConaty at the same address with interment at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO at 12:30.
