Bonnie's Story

Text size

Bonnie P. (Chaney) Kingins was born September 9, 1933 to Edgar and Dora (Colbert) Chaney in Haskell, Oklahoma. She went to be with her Lord September 20, 2016 in Colorado Springs, CO. She married Malcom Kingins, September 5, 1957. He preceded her in death October 5, 1972.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister. She is survived by her brothers, Jack Chaney of Tulsa, OK, Ed Chaney of Muskogee, OK, and Ben Chaney and his wife, Louise of Okmulgee, OK; her sisters, Pat Stevenson and Barbara Wilson and her husband George of Muskogee, OK, and Sue Weidner of Dataw Island, SC and many nephews and nieces as well as great and great great nephews and nieces, and many other family members and friends.
Bonnie was devoted to her family and was always available to help when there was a need. She spent her life helping family and friends if they just needed to talk things over, she had time to listen and encourage. She loved oil painting and enjoyed sharing them with her family. She was a long time member of Okay Christian Fellowship and recently started attending Thrive Family Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Among her employment years, she was secretary for District Attorney Paul Ferguson, Department of Human Services, and her job before she retired was night Manager and Auditor for the Holiday Inn Express, all of Muskogee.
Bonnie was where she wanted to be and doing what she wanted to do, holding and singing to her youngest great great nephew, Kian Roark in Colorado Springs, CO, when she passed away suddenly early that September morning. She will be missed by all, but she will be there in Heaven to welcome each of us one day.
Arrangements were made by Springs Funeral Home of Colorado Springs and Cornerstone Funeral Home of Muskogee. A private family service was held and interment was at Colbert Cemetery west of Haskell, Oklahoma.
