Billy Glenn Sparks
Jul 23, 1960 - Mar 12, 2017
Billy Glenn Sparks, or Glenn to his many family and friends, was born on July 23rd, 1960, in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Raymond and Elva Jane (Coward) Sparks. He grew up in the family home with three brothers and two sisters, Raymond, Jimmy, Paul, Mary and Gail. He completed high school and on February 5th, 1982, he married the love of his life, Susan Cartwright at the Welling Baptist Church. Together they raised a son, Jason Ray Sparks. Glenn was a man that loved the great outdoors, there was nothing he liked more. He loved to get his dogs ready for the hunt, then hit the trail for the days hunt. Glenn was proud of his dogs, he cared for them daily. He was always up to help Beef go cut firewood, and the two of them would tell stories, and joke while they worked all afternoon. Glenn was a man that appreciated the family he had, ever niece and nephew was a treasure. He loved gathering for a family meal or a holiday, and talking the afternoon away. He loved life, and kept it simple, no fuss or muss. If it needed fixing, Glenn, fixed it! If he could make it run, he would give it a try. Glenn went to his eternal rest on March 12th, 2017 out in the woods, cutting wood with his buddy, Beef, like he had done many time before. He was 56 years old. He will be missed by all of his many family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, father, a nephew, Justin Scott, brothers-in-law, Benny Davis and Randy Scott, and his father-in-law, Jim Shirrel.
Those left to celebrate his life include his wife Susan, of the home in Ft. Gibson, and his son, Jason Ray Sparks also of Ft. Gibson. He leaves his brothers and sisters, Raymond Sparks and wife Joyce, Jimmy Sparks and wife Diane, and Paul Sparks and wife Jennifer all of Ft. Gibson, OK, Mary Clogston and husband Mike of Grove, OK, and Gail Dotson and husband Gary of Tahlequah, OK. There are also many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and love ones.
His family will be gathering for a private service in Glenn's honor at a later date.
