Bill Ross, born February 14, 1929 at Webbers Falls, died Saturday January 21, 2017 in Muskogee, OK. He was 87.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Wanda of 62 years on December 29, 2016, father Andrew "Cotton" Ross, mother Virgie Ross Stanley, sisters, Mary Sappington and Jean Calvert.
Survivors include a daughter, Tammye & Myron Lockwood of Roland, son, Billy Ross of the home; four grandchildren, Lance and Morgan Lockwood of Ft. Smith, AR, Sara and Tyler Lovett of Checotah, OK, Wyatt Ross and Shelby Ross of Morris, OK; three great-grandchildren, T.J., Parker and Hattie Lovett, of Checotah; three brothers, Robert and Modean Ross of Webbers Falls, Virgil and Jerri Ross of Webbers Falls and James Ed and Nancy Ross, of Webbers Falls along with numerous family and friends.
Bill worked as a bookkeeper for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation for 30 years. He was a member of the IRA (International Rodeo Assn., The Old Timers Rodeo Assn. and the Masonic Lodge.
He was a devoted husband, Dad, Pap-pa, family member and friend. He was always involved in whatever Tammye and Billy were in; sport, showing livestock, FFA, 4H and school activity.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Webbers Falls with Rev. Wendell Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Fields Cemetery in Porum, OK. Viewing will be on Monday from 10 am to 8 pm with family visitation from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home of Webbers Falls.
