Bennie Lee Osborn, 78, died February 22, 2017, at the VA Medical Center, in Muskogee, OK. He was born on June 8, 1938, in Checotah, OK, to Wesley and Anna Clark Osborn.
Bennie graduated from Checotah High School after which he was drafted into the Army. He served his tour of duty and then attended Conners State College in Warner, where he graduated with an Associate Degree in Accounting.
He worked as a grocery store manager for Humpty Dumpty, Dills and Johnson Food.
He married Sherry Waters on December 22, 1959, in Stigler.
Bennie was an avid hunter and fisherman, and spent a lot of his time in the outdoors with his sons and nephews. He was skilled in all areas of repair and would attend auctions and garage sales where he purchased items to work on for his enjoyment.
Bennie was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, one daughter, and wife of 53 years. He is survived by sons, Tom Osborn of Muskogee and Steve Osborn and wife Janet of McAlester; three grandchildren, Bradley Kyle Osborn of Norman, Michelle Dawn Osborn of Muskogee, and Amber Mae Mangan of Oklahoma City; as well as many other relatives and friends.
There will be a memorial service at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 3, 2017, in Fosters' Ivory Chapel at Foster-Petering, Muskogee, Oklahoma.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to the VFW of Henryetta.
