Bearl's Story

Bearl Nathaniel Davis, 77, a lifetime resident of Muskogee, Oklahoma entered Heaven's gates on Sunday, March 12, 2017. He was born on September 15, 1939 to Bearl G. Davis and Lucille Harris Davis. He attended Muskogee public schools where he graduated from Central High School and furthered his education at Muskogee Junior College.
Bearl met and later married his best friend, Alta Lucille Hutson on February 6, 1959 at Boston Avenue Baptist Church. They celebrated more than 58 years of life and marriage together.
He worked as an Operations Manager for Frontier Airlines for many years. He later worked at Muskogee Public Schools from which he retired in 2001 but his favorite job was being a cattleman.
Bearl will always be remembered for his love for the Lord. He was an active and faithful member of Keefeton Trinity Baptist Church for 51 years where he served as a deacon, trustee, and sometimes a Sunday School teacher. He was also a Mason, a Shriner, and a member of the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association.
Bearl was loved by many and will be truly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bearl and Lucille Davis; and his mother and father-in-law, Robbie and Theodore Hutson.
Bearl is survived by the love of his life, Alta Davis; children, Glen Davis and wife Jan, Kent Davis and wife Vivian; sister, Charolette Davis and husband Walker; brother, Allen Davis and wife Sue; brothers and sisters-in-law, Addie Reese, Mac Hutson and wife Carolyn, Jim Hutson and wife Wynona, Judy Croftcheck and husband Tom, Wanda Stewart and husband Larry, Kenneth Hutson and wife Sue, Sandy Stout and husband Barry, and Tommy Hutson; grandchildren, Nathan Davis and wife Meagan, Joshua Davis and wife Andrea, Nicholas Davis and wife Bethany, Jon Davis and wife Angel, Jeremy Jackson and wife Brittney, and Kimberly Watson and husband Rick; great grandchildren, Kaleb, Tyler, Dylan, Madison, Alexis (Lexie), Kameron Ryan, Reid, Tucker, Kameron, Trent, Ryder, Blakelee, Jase and soon to arrive, Emma; numerous nieces , nephews, and other family members and friends.

Bearl's family will receive visitors 5:30 P.M. - 7:30 P.M., Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel.
A celebration of Bearl's life will be 11:00 A.M., Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Keefeton Trinity Baptist Church with Bro. James Taylor and Bro. Adrian Totty officiating. Pallbearers will be Nathan Davis, Joshua Davis, Nicholas Davis, Jon Davis, Jeremy Jackson, Kyle Shelton, Joe Croftcheck and Steve Croftcheck. Honorary pallbearers will be T.A. Staton, Tom Croftcheck, Ralph Moses, Mearle McKeen, Leamon Scoggins, Bobby Jones, Jack Briley, Cotton Flinn, Kenneth Moton, Jody Rogers, and Randy Daniels.
