Barbara's Story

Barbara Ann Burris, 71 of Muskogee, passed away late Thursday evening, September 14, 2017. She was born June 23, 1946, to Robert E. and Marguerite E. (Dorris) Werner in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. She grew up and attended the public schools and graduated from high school. She furthered her education and attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
She married her best friend, Quincy Richard Burris, on May 9, 1970. Together, they shared many years of happy marriage and life together. They owned and operated Tulsa Downtown Towing for many years until their retirement.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Quincy; her parents, Robert and Marguerite Werner; her son, Robbie Burris.
Barbara is survived by her son, Michael J. Burris and his wife Kimberly; grandchildren, Kenneth Geraldon, Jaki Statton, Jami Statton, Elizabeth Burris, Steven Geraldon, Chyene Burris, Michael Anthony James Burris, and Stephanie Brown and husband Dustin; great grandchildren, Destinee, Braiden, Darien Geraldon, Thomas and Savannah, Payton, Mason, and Carlie Geraldon, Dylan Epperson, Kayli, Kelsie and Kynlee Brown; great-great grandson, Dayton Blake Epperson; her siblings, Johnny Werner and wife Belinda of Talala, OK and Jimmy Werner of Inola; cousin, Donald Norris; nieces and nephews, Robert and Connie Werner, Jim and Donna Werner and Ryan and Teresa Werner; stepchildren, Faye, Pamela, Paula, Jameye and Geraldine; step grandchildren, Jessica, Jonathan, Steven, Daniel, Jason, Christopher, Gary, Tamissa and Ricky; numerous other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 21, 2017, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral Home.
