Barbara's Story

Barbara Faye Bunch, 84, passed away on May 21, 2017, peacefully with her loved ones at her side. She was born in Muskogee on October 3, 1932 to Agnes (Drake) and Tom Henderson.
Barbara was an avid collector of all things Precious Moments, enjoyed baking, was known for her beautiful needlepoint projects and relaxed by feeding the birds. In November 1963, at the age of 31, Barbara was baptized and became a member of Boulevard Christian Church. Barbara began working for Southwestern Bell as an operator and was promoted to supervisor during her 25+ year career with them. On March 3, 1974, Barbara married Robert L. Bunch and they were blessed enough to spend over 42 years together before Bob's passing in 2016. The two enjoyed a wonderful life together and Barbara took exceptional care of him throughout his illness.
Barbara was preceded in death by husband, Robert L. Bunch; her parents; sister, Joyce Patty Jackson; and step-son, Darrell Adams. She is survived by brothers, Robert Leon Henderson, Don T. Henderson and wife Sue; step-son, Jerry Adams and wife Suzie; step-daughter-in-law, Patty Adams; nieces, Vicky, Chris, Melissa; nephews, Jeff, Greg, Michael, Gary; special friends, Larry and Sandra Beattie, Perry and Nan Schulze; and her beloved dog, Buddy. She was cared for by her grandson Johnny and wife Brenda Adams.
Viewing Thursday May 24, 2017 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Barbara will be held Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 10:30 am, at Boulevard Christian Church with Pastor Tony Blumenberg officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
