Alice Joyce Ogles was born on April 6, 1938 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Sam and Martha (Annie) Bowlin of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. She passed away on April 4, 2017 in Groesbeck, Texas. She grew up in Fort Gibson and attended schools there, graduating in 1955 from Fort Gibson High School. She attended Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma and Northeastern State College In Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma until her marriage to Leon D. Ogles in 1958 when they made their home in Muskogee.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, her parents, 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruby Fern and Frank Conant and Eunice and J.C. Hamilton. Another brother-in-law, Truman Nobles and 2 brothers, Allen G. Bowlin and Anthony Bowlin also preceded her in death as well as an infant sister, Mary Darlene Bowlin and nephew Greg Avants. She is survived by 2 sisters, Ruth E. Nobles of Muskogee, Oklahoma and Blanche Reece and brother-in-law, Daniel Reece. Seventeen nieces and nephew also survive her.
No services are being planned at her request as she has donated her body to Medical Science Research.
