Alan's Story

Alan F. Abel, 62, of Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma entered Heaven's gates on Monday, October 2, 2017. He was born January 23, 1955 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Logan and Joann Abel. He attended Muskogee Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1973. He furthered his education at Connors State College.
Alan married his best friend and true love, Arlene Adams, on April 2, 2001 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They shared more than 16 years of life and marriage together.
Alan will always be remembered as a person who never met a stranger. He enjoyed talking and visiting with everyone. He worked as an independent distributor for Little Debbie snack cakes for many years. He was known to everyone as "The Little Debbie Man".
His hobbies included riding motorcycles, camping, and fishing.
Alan loved his family and enjoyed nothing more than his kids being all together.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Logan and Joann Abel; and his brother, David Abel.
Alan is survived by his wife, Arlene; daughters, Michelle Peet (Robert) of Wagoner, Angela Salazar (Martin) of Tulsa; son, Bryan Abel (Rosie) of Muskogee; sister, Karen Reed of Muskogee; grandchildren, Jessica Hughes (Joshua), Jacob Hughes, Robbie Peet, Reagan Peet, Logan Abel, Noah Peet, Ashton Abel, and Dakota Salazar; great grandsons, Jordan Hughes and Joseph Hughes; along with other family members and friends who will miss him greatly.
Funeral services honoring Alan's life will be 1:30PM, Thursday, October 5, 2017 at New Hope Assembly of God Church with Pastor John Overton and Rev. Monte Humphrey officiating. Interment will follow at South Bethel Cemetery in Braggs, OK with Melvin Gray, Doug Dugger, David Munsell, Larry Ingle, John Hollifield, and Dallas Sutterfield serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Jerry Williams.
