A.G.'s Story

A.G. "Bud" Guthrie, 74, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017. He was born on July 14, 1943 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Bill and Betty (Wilkerson) Guthrie.
Bud attended and graduated from Pawnee Public Schools. Following graduation, he furthered his education at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. His professional career was spent at the Oklahoma Department of Transportation where he was the asphalt supervisor. He later retired after 30 plus years of service.
On May 30, 1986, Bud married the love of his life, Linda Kay (Beaver) Guthrie in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Together they shared over 31 years of life, love, and marriage together.
Bud was an avid OU sports fan especially when they won. He loved being outdoors and was a dedicated fisherman. He lived and breathed to fish.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Betty Guthrie; and sister, Sue Blair.
Bud is survived by his loving wife of the home, Linda Kay Guthrie; children, Gregory Guthrie and wife Shannon of Ray, ND, Amber Sawyer and husband Scott of Marshall, TX, and Jeffrey Taylor and Margo of Checotah, OK; stepdaughters, Lesa Hamilton of Muskogee, OK, and Christy Harnage and husband Michael of Muskogee, OK; nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, three nieces, along with many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
A memorial service of Bud's life will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 21, 2017 at Cornerstone Funeral Home with Brother Tommy Honeycutt officiating.
