William's Story

William Anthony Hofschulte, 96, died Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Broadway Manor. Born to Casper and Christine (Weber) Hofschulte on September 28, 1920, was raised and continued to live on the farm southwest of Muskogee. Bill attended Mt View School. Bill and Martha (Kozak) married November 28, 1959 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Wagoner and attended St Joseph Catholic Church.
And on the 8th day, God looked down on his planned paradise and said, I need a caretaker. So God made a Farmer...Farmer Bill, as his great grandchildren call him, was a farmer and dairyman retiring in 1985, then raised beef cattle. He was a caretaker of his wife for many years before she passed away Thanksgiving Day on their 54th Wedding Anniversary, November 28, 2013.
Bill, the baby of the family, was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sisters Anna Barrett, Mary Hofschulte, Frances Perrier, Sister Minnie Hofschulte, Sister Emma Hofschulte, Josephine Steiert, and Christine Rozell and two brothers Frank and Fred Hofschulte. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Faustina and Thomas Greuel of Muskogee; son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Jan Hofschulte of Miami; grandchildren Michael Greuel and wife Kim, Shaina Greuel and Marc Trammell, Kendall Greuel and wife Hailey, Laura Greuel, William Greuel, Nicholas Hofschulte, Christopher Hofschulte and Natalie Hofschulte; great grandchildren Kinley Hofschulte, Bailey Greuel, Colton Greuel, Peyton Trammell, Benjamin Greuel, Emmalyn Greuel and Baby Girl Greuel due in June.
The Rosary will be said Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Foster Petering Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at St Joseph Catholic Church with Father Michael Knipe officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Cemetery, which is Martha's 95th Birthday.
Pallbearers will be Thomas, Michael, Kendall, and William Greuel. Also, Nicholas and Christopher Hofschulte. Honorary Pallbearers will be Shaina and Laura Greuel. Also, Natalie Hofschulte.
