Resident of Huntsville, AL, Dr. W. Joe Hacker, Jr. passed away March 23, 2017. Born in Ada, OK, on May 26, 1930, he was 86 years old. Dr. Hacker graduated high school at Muskogee Central High School and went on to serve in the Navy from 1948 to 1952 on the USS Navasota during the Korean War. He held degrees from Harding College in Bible, and a Doctorate in Philosophy and Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He preached for Owens Cross Roads Church of Christ in Owens Cross Roads, Alabama; and taught interns and regular Bible classes at Central Church of Christ, Huntsville, Alabama. He taught adjunct Bible courses for Faulkner University in Huntsville, Al; and held meetings and workshops in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Missouri, Mississippi, Louisiana, and New Mexico. He is survived by his wife, Joan Benson Hacker, his four children, eight grandchildren, and five great children.
