Wayne's Story

Wayne "Bob" Rose, 74, of Muskogee, Oklahoma entered Heaven's gates Wednesday, December 21, 2016. He was born April 6, 1942 to James William Rose and Thelma (Parker) Rose in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Bob graduated from Muskogee Central High School with the class of 1960. He then continued his education at Muskogee Junior College and Northeastern State University. Bob served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and received an honorable discharge in 1965.
Bob married the love of his life, Mary (Dianne) Woody, October 15, 1966 at Bethel Temple in Muskogee, Oklahoma. They shared 50 years of life and marriage together.
He worked for the V.A. Regional Office in the Education Benefits Department until his retirement. He also worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and First National Bank in the Bookkeeping and Proof Department.
Fishing, camping, and golfing were some of the many things in life Bob enjoyed. He and his wife attended Bethel Temple Church for 25 years and also attended Muskogee First Assembly of God for 23 years. Bob loved serving the Lord and taught Sunday school and Children's Church for many years. He also loved having fellowship with the "The Romeo Mens Prayer Group". Bob's family, next to his relationship with God, was very important to him. He loved spending time with them and watching them grow. He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, James Rose; and brother, Dewan Rose.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne Rose of the home; his children, Candee Rose, Michael Rose, and Rhonda Rose all of Muskogee, OK; his granddaughters, Tristian Fernandez and husband Oscar of Minot, ND, and Chelsea Hacker of Waco, TX; grandsons, Jacob Beezley, Jonah Rose and Oliver Rose all of Muskogee, OK; great granddaughter, Scarlet of Waco, TX; great grandson, Adler Fernandez of Minot, ND; siblings, Jim Rose and wife Nellie, (his twin) Bonnie Lindeke, Jean Bergman all of Muskogee, OK, and Rodney Rose and wife Darlene of Wainwright, OK; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
A celebration of Bob's life will be 12:00 P.M., Friday, December 23, 2016 at Muskogee First Assembly with Dr. Steve Rose officiating. Interment will be 2:00 P.M. at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with military honors presented. Pallbearers will be Martin Bergmann, Ron Cagle, Doyle Stiles, Rodney Rose, Don Ridge, and Fred Kiser.
