Virginia  Pugh


Virginia Pugh was born to Eddie Lee Burlison and Mamie Marie Burlison at home in Muskogee, Oklahoma on January 10, 1934. She left this life to go to her eternal home on Thursday, July 25, 2019.

Virginia attended grade school in Muskogee and graduated from Muskogee Central High School in 1952. She later continued her education at Bacone College.

Virginia started her working career in 1949 at F.W. Woolworth in Muskogee at the candy counter and later became one of the floor walkers. She was later employed with J.C. Penny becoming the first catalog manager. Virginia worked at various department stores and at Bacone College in the counseling department. She retired from Beacon Construction Company as the personnel manager.

Virginia was a great seamstress and loving home maker. She enjoyed playing her piano and never missed an opportunity to be ornery.

Virginia dedicated her life to serve the Lord as a Sunday School teacher and servant of the Church.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Eddie and Marie, a brother Donald Burlison, a sister Patsy Ruth Arnold and son Mark Stevens.

Survivors include her husband Ron Pugh of the home, brother Phillip Burlison and wife Diane of California, daughter Rhonda Morrison and husband Kenny of Muskogee, and son Roger Pugh of Muskogee. Grand Children are Jason Henry, Brent Henry and wife Katie, Brandy Howard, Andrea McHugh, Brittany Kemerely and husband Chad, and Jared Pugh. She also leaves behind a host of Great Grandchildren, several nieces, and several nephews.

Services for Virginia will be held by Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 30th at 10 AM at the Lescher-Millsap Chapel. Services will be led by Brother Merritt Youngdeer and Brother Paul Black. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Henry, Brent Henry, Jared Pugh, Larry Kennedy, Jared Wofford, and Danny Rosson.
