Truman Thomas Nobles, 86, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away November 16, 2016. Truman was born on Brushy Mountain, Oklahoma on February 23, 1930 to George and Eliza Kumpe Nobles.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 21, 2016, in the Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Gibson with Rev. Don Landers and Mr. Bill Miner officiating. Interment will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home in Fort Gibson.
Mr. Nobles was a citizen of the Cherokee Nation, obtained Bachelor and Master's degrees from Northeastern State in Tahlequah and an additional Master's degree from Long Beach State in California. Mr. Nobles was a corporal in the army, taught school for thirty years, rode professional rodeo, and showed prize cattle.
Truman is survived by his wife of 56 years Ruth Bowlin Nobles, son Keith and Claire Nobles of Littleton, Colorado and daughter Luanne and Chad Miller of Cupertino, California and grand-daughters Eliza Nobles and Emma Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Ollie Smith and Mildred Conrad; two brothers, George Nobles and John Nobles.
Viewing for Mr. Nobles will be Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. with family receiving visitors from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.at Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home in Fort Gibson.
