Tracy's Story

Text size

On November 23, 1962, a baby girl was born to Garfield Smith and Elnora Sneed in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Tracy received her formal education in the Muskogee Public Schools and completed her education at Historic Carter G. Woodson School in Tullahassee, Oklahoma, graduating with the Class of 1981.
After graduation, Tracy worked at various vocations in Muskogee, until she gained employment with Muskogee Public Schools in 1989 as a Dietary Specialist.
In her spare time, Tracy enjoyed taking long rides viewing the countryside, listening to music, playing games on her computer and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
In October of 1994, Tracy met the love of her life, Marvin Winston. On May 19, 2007, Tracy and Marvin joined together as one. There were no children born to this union.
Tracy was a member of Boulevard Christian Church, under the leadership of Pastor James McCracken. She attended regularly until her health began to fail.
In her 54th year with us, Tracy Lynetta Winston, with her husband and daughter by her side, closed her eyes on Earth and transitioned to Eternal life on September 4, 2017. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Genise Ceasar.
Tracy leaves in God's care; her husband, Marvin Winston; two sons, David Major, Jr., Wichita Falls, Texas and Martellie [Crystal] Major, Albuquerque, New Mexico; a daughter, Keosha Duncan, Muskogee, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren; her mother, Elnora Sneed, Muskogee; her father, Garfield Smith, Chicago, Illinois; 2 brothers, Ronnie [Debra] Belton Sneed, Wichita, Kansas, Terry Ward, Chicago, Illinois; a sister, Angela Faye [Lajuan] Walters, DeSoto, Texas; a special Aunt, Juanita Smith, Muskogee; and a host of other relatives and friends. Also, very special thank you to Good Shepherd Hospice, who provided loving care for Tracy.
The Hour of Remembrance for Mrs. Winston will commence on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Boulevard Christian Church. Pastor James McCracken will officiate. Burial will follow in the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery.
