Thelma Faye Lagow, 87 Our precious Mother passed peacefully March 2, 2018 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She died due to Congestive Heart Failure and Parkinsons Disease. Born March 15, 1930, in Erick, Oklahoma she was eldest of the five children of Adam Merchel West and Mary Bernice Dilling.
She was raised in Western Oklahoma graduating from Ocina High School, Ocina, Oklahoma in 1948. She met her husband while working at a diner in Sayre, Oklahoma where he gave her two pennies for her Penny Loafers, which she never spent. Married October 18, 1952, they briefly lived in Borger, Texas then settled in Muskogee. She worked for 30 years as Office Manager for Jim Askew Insurance Agency.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Virgil M. Lagow, two children, son Virgil M. Lagow II of Muskogee and daughter Janet L. Sanders of Fort Gibson, three grandchildren, Dante J. Sanders II (Becky), of Howe, Oklahoma, Randy A. Sanders (Shirl), of Wagoner, Oklahoma and Lauren W. Fleetwood (Jimmy), of Muskogee. Seven great-grandchildren, PFC Spencer R. Sanders, US Marine Corps, Second Lieutenant Riley T. Sanders (Kiley), US Marine Corps, Airman Sean C. Blish, US Navy, Joshua K. Knight, Poteau, Oklahoma, Carrissa L. Fleetwood and Tyler L. Fleetwood, Muskogee and Londen C. Sanders, Howe, one great-great-grandchild, Remmington J. Knight, Poteau. Two sisters, Drucilla Sandusky, Riverside, California, Vera Sue Graybill, Hendersonville, Tennessee, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Aaron West and Dolphus West.
She would not want us to be sad shes gone, her work on earth was done. Instead rejoice that she is no longer in pain and is with her Heavenly Father, Lord and Savior. She will be forever missed, loved and remembered.
Wishing to help others, she donated her body to Medical Science; no public service will be held.
