Shirley's Story

Text size

Shirley Dean Miller, 71, a lifelong Muskogee resident was born March 17, 1946 in Muskogee, OK to John and Norean (Haws) Miller and peacefully passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 in Muskogee with her family by her side.
Shirley was an amazing woman who loved to laugh, travel, and meet people. She was Elvis Presley's biggest fan and would find someone to two step when his songs were played. Shirley loved family vacations traveling to Wyoming to see her brother, taking a cruise with her sisters to Mexico to swim with the dolphins and Branson to ride all the rides at Silver Dollar City. God and family were her passions. Shirley was a beautiful person inside and out and her family always told her there is a special place in Heaven for her.
We know Shirley is in Heaven in the presence of God and her family; her mom and dad, Kevin, Dave, and Darren who predeceased her.
Shirley is lovingly survived by sisters, Nora Jean Wright and Pat Foster both of Muskogee; brother, Michael Miller and wife Amy of Fort Gibson; niece, Anna Matthews of Muskogee; nephews, Benjamin Miller of Sapulpa and Brandon Foster of Muskogee; aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Fort Gibson with the family receiving friends 5PM-7PM.
Funeral services are 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 10, 2017 in the Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Gibson with Rev Greg Sinclair officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in the Elm Grove Cemetery in Muskogee County with Benjamin Miller, Nathan Gossett, Jimmy Moran and John Moran serving as pallbearers.
The family of Shirley Dean Miller has entrusted her services and burial to Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service 1224 E Poplar/PO Box 1973 Fort Gibson, OK 918-478-2555
