Robert's Story

Robert F. "Bob" Richey, age 76, was born at home in Kremlin, Oklahoma on October 31, 1940 to William A. and Mary (Taylor) Richey. He and Glenda (Feist) Richey were married on November 26, 1960 in Medford, Oklahoma. He died on August 7, 2017 in Muskogee, Oklahoma after a long illness.
Bob grew up on a central Oklahoma farm and helped his family raise wheat, alfalfa and cattle. He graduated from Kremlin High School and Oklahoma A&M. He lived in Ponca City and Beggs, OK and Burkburnett and Baytown, TX while working many years for Conoco Oil Company. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Muskogee and the Knights of Columbus, a member of Scouting's Order of the Arrow and a former Scoutmaster. He was a lifelong baseball fan, OSU fan and enjoyed playing golf. He loved to travel and went via truck, car, motorcycle, piloting his own plane or riding all-terrain vehicles. He visited many states but his favorite was Colorado in order to ride the mountain passes, forest trails and trains.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Faye Richey, brothers-in-law Larry Kretchmar and Richard Caudle and niece Jennifer Gillespie.
Mourning Bob's passing are his loving wife of fifty-six years, Glenda; his daughter, Jo and Jack Stealer of Pryor, OK; his son, Robert Jr. of Muskogee, OK; brothers, John Richey and wife Dorothy of Wichita, KS, and Eldon Richey of Enid, OK; sister, Donna of Kremlin, OK and their families. He also leaves behind Glenda's siblings: Rita Roller of Muskogee, OK, Ruth Beatie and Peggy Caudle both of Tulsa, OK, Jeannette Loch of Medford, OK, and John Feist of Brownsville, TX, their spouses and large families.
He cherished each and every family member and frequently said, "Every day I wake up is a good day." It was an especially joyful day when he was able to visit with family and friends.
A Rosary will be 7:00 P.M., Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel.
A Celebration of Bob's life will be 1:00 P.M., Friday, August 11, 2017 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma with Father Richard Chrisler as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery 9101 S Harvard Ave Tulsa, OK 74137. Pallbearers will be Jack Stealer, Russel Richey, Richard Richey, Brian Beatie, Steve Beatie, Darin Loch, Ben Caudle and Mark Bliss.
