Robert Hugh Hutchins, 58, of Fort Gibson left this world suddenly on July 16, 2017. Robert was born on December 12, 1958 in San Mateo, California to the late Joyce Fern Wilson and Richard Hugh Hutchins. His step father Forrest Augusta Wilson was a very important figure in his life.
Robert joined the Marines at the age of 17, he was proud of his accomplishments in the Corp. He married his wife Tammy on January 31, 1982 after a whirlwind romance. The couple has celebrated 35 years together.
He is survived by his wife Tammy, daughter Rachel Soash and her husband Daniel; son Nathan Hutchins and his granddaughters Jensen and Shelby; his brothers, Steven Hutchins of Fort Gibson and his children Danielle and Morgan and Eric Hutchins of Braggs and his children Tricia, Steven and David; sister Victoria Hutchins-Pitcher of San Mateo California; his Godchildren Kaeden and Mattison; his adopted sons Jarod Lasater and his wife BreeAnna, Jake Lasater, and Kory Dotson and his wife Emily and their children Eli, Abram and Brooklynn.
Robert loved his family. He loved being a husband, father and Pop Pop. He enjoyed his job at Kemp Stone, and dedicated many years to them. He was an avid duck hunter and enjoyed being outdoors. Robert loved life and was able to make the best of any situation. He was able to make friends wherever he went. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by those whose lives he has touched.
Viewings will be held Wednesday July 19 and Thursday July 20 from 10 am until 7 pm at Lescher-Millsap Funeral home in Fort Gibson. Memorial service will be held Saturday July 22, 2017 at 10 am at Victory Baptist Church in Fort Gibson.
