Reba's Story

Text size

Reba Evelyn Morton left her earthly vessel to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, July 22nd, 2017 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa with her two boys by her side.
She was born on April 12, 1948 to Elden Ezell Page and Bessie LeBelle Page (Weems) at home in Smithville, Oklahoma. She was one of six children.
She married the love of her life, William Ronald Morton (Ronnie) on June 7th, 1968 in Smithville, OK. They spent 36 wonderful years together until Ronnie's passing on September 30th, 2004. From this union two boys were born, Ronald James Morton (Ron) and Anthony Elden Morton.
She loved her family to the very core. She loved to cook, host holidays, talk about old times, and brag about her kids and grandkids. Oh those kids and grandkids...She watched countless quarters of basketball and football, along with numerous innings of baseball and softball and in the past few years, many rounds of golf. She was a devoted coach's wife for over 30 years. Being a coach's wife meant opening her home up to all the players and preparing lots of cheese sandwiches and pancakes.
She was a faithful member of Timothy Baptist Church, where she taught Children's Sunday School along with her empty chair where Jesus attended class every time. She also loved being a door greeter before church began.
She devoted most of her 25 year career at Bacone College as a Financial Aid Counselor, and most recently as an Administrative Assistant. She was known as "Miss Reba" to her students. She considered it an honor to help them with their education.
Reba was preceded in death by her parents, Elden and Bessie Page and husband, Ronnie Morton. She is survived by her boys, Ron and Lisa Morton (Muskogee, OK) and Anthony and Christa Morton (Portland, Oregon), and two granddaughters Kayla Renee and Aubree Page Morton (Muskogee, OK); also, five brothers and sisters, Billy and Sue Page (Oxford, Mississippi), Helen Pollard (Mena, Arkansas), Jerry Page (McKinney, Texas), Joyce and Wayne Plunkett (Watson, OK), Judy and Mike Varner (Fort Smith, Arkansas) and many nephews, nieces, friends, and her Timothy Baptist Church Family.
Viewing will be from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25th, 2017 at Foster-Petering Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 26th, 2017 at Timothy Baptist Church, 5530 W. Okmulgee, Muskogee, OK with the Reverend Kelly Payne officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kyle Barner, Kyle Hatfield, Clint Morgan, Todd Stringfellow, Patrick Holybee, Kelly Staton, Richard Johnson.
