RD Tackett was born in Sequoyah County, Vian, OK to Lester & Lottie (Gragg) Tackett. Surrounded by his loving wife of 64 years and his three children; RD went to inherit his heavenly home at 5:56pm. He is proceeded in death by his Father, Mother, three sisters, three brothers, and his loving grandson Jeffery Tackett. Waiting to join him is his loving wife whom he called his Pride and Joy, Norma June (Roberts) Tackett, one daughter Teresa and Barry Miller of Coweta, OK, two sons, Larry and Pat Tackett of Pagosa Springs, CO., and Wade and Loretta Tackett of Lost City, OK, eight grandchildren, fourteen great grand-children, two brothers Paul and Donnie Tackett, also a very special friend he called his little girl, Rosetta. He was a member of House of Prayer Free Holiness Church for over 64 years where he gave his life to Christ at an early age. RD was well known for his thumb and finger-style guitar picking. And its been said that if he wasn't hugging Momma he was hugging his Gretsch guitar. Being reared in a home with a Grandmother that was fluent in Cherokee, RD never forgot some of her words which inspired him to continue his studies in the Cherokee language. And, he was devoted to reading his Cherokee Bible daily. He was very proud of his Cherokee blood. He retired from Jenson International as a code welder after 31 years. Pallbearers: Doug Miller, Braden Miller, Steven Tackett, RD Tackett II, Greg Fedrick, Steven Hair, Waylon Bird, & Nathan Kapica. He will greatly be missed by his family and friends. He was "Mr. Guitar".
