Norma Wynona Shuman, 93, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2019. She was born on November 23, 1925 in Turley, Oklahoma to Marshall Robert Eldridge and Florence Grace Eldridge (Lester).
Norma worked at Safeway Grocery Stores from 1950-1969. She then married the love of her life Herschel Lee Shuman on April 25, 1970 in Norco, California, they spent more than 48 memorable years together. Norma lived in Savanna, Georgia for 30 years before coming to Muskogee, Oklahoma and became a member at First Baptist Church Muskogee. She loved gardening, bowling, crocheting, and cooking. She also loved going on boat rides and going fishing, but most of all she loved her family.
Norma is preceded in death by her husband Herschel Lee Shuman; sons John Roger Youngblood, Charles Larry Youngblood, and James David Youngblood; daughter Marsha Shuman; great-grandson Brett Cook.
She is survived by her son Dennis Youngblood (Sherri) of Gilbert, AZ; sister Melba Cole of Tulsa, OK; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and several great great-grandchildren.
The celebration of Norma's life will be 10:00am Friday, April 26, 2019 at Cornerstone Funeral Home with Chaplain Bill Crow officiating. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Mausoleum with Curtis Youngblood, Kenny Brand, Daniel Youngblood, Brock Youngblood, Jeff Youngblood, and Jamie Clifton serving as Pallbearers. Dennis Youngblood, David Cook, Kyle Cook, Toby Youngblood, and Perry Youngblood serving as Honorary Pallbearers.
Funeral services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home, 1830 N. York Street, Muskogee, Oklahoma. Condolences may be made to the family online at www.cornerstoneofmuskogee.com.
