Nikki's Story

Home for Christmas, Nikki Overton is now celebrating eternal life! She passed on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 11:25AM at her home in Muskogee, OK surrounded by her loving family who will miss her deeply.
Her birth name, Nichole Lyn Arnold, was born February 10, 1966 in Ft Smith, AR to Robert J. Arnold and Linda D. (Allen) Stem. She attended public school and graduated from Southside Rebels High School in Ft. Smith with the class of 1984.
Nikki married her best friend and the love of her life, John William Overton, on July 20, 1984 in Ft. Smith AR. The example they provided through their 33 blessed years of life and marriage together have provided many wonderful memories that will continue on through their children and grandchildren.
Nikki will always be remembered as the "First Lady at New Hope Assembly of God", John's cheerleader, a mighty prayer warrior, and the prime example of what a Christian woman is.
She was an awesome interior decorator, enjoyed working in her yard, camping with her family and spending time at the lake, and most important, loving on her children and grandchildren.
If you knew Nikki for a long time or a short time, you knew you were loved the moment you met her. Her life sermon, "Don't forget" and "Remember who you are" were words spoken out of love and compassion to show you how special you were to her.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Stem; father, Robert J. Arnold; and her sister, Dana Boatwright.
Nikki is survived by her husband, John, of the home; daughter, Jacquie Redding and husband David of Ft. Smith, AR; sons, Nathan Overton, Nicholas Overton, and Noble Overton, all of the home; granddaughters, Londyn Redding and Olivia Redding, of Ft. Smith, AR; father, John Stem of Ft. Smith, AR, mother, Donna Arnold of Van Buren, AR; brother, Kevin Arnold and wife Becky of Rudy, AR; sisters, Kym Stem and Lisa Boatwright, both of Ft. Smith, AR; along with numerous other family members, church family members, and friends who loved her and will miss her dearly.
The family will receive friends from 4:30PM-7:30PM, Thursday, December 21, 2017 at New Hope Assembly of God Church.
Nikki's life will be celebrated at 1PM, Friday, December 22, 2017 at New Hope Assembly of God Church with Rev. Darren Pilcher and Pastor Monte Humphrey officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery with Jim Lawson, Dale Fulton, Jim Langley, Jack Roach, Dale Wiggins, and Brent Moore serving as pallbearers.
