Matthew Benjamin Baird, age 20 of Yale, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017 in Yale. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at the First Assembly of God in Yale. Rev. Barry Richards and Rev. Randell Newby will officiate. Interment will follow at Lawson Cemetery, Yale, Ok.

Matthew was born on April 3, 1997 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Jeffery and Valerie (Michaelsen) Baird. He grew up in Oklahoma, Nebraska and they moved to Yale in 2006. Matthew attended Yale schools, graduating from Yale High School in 2015. While in high school, Matthew enjoyed playing defense and offense for the Yale Bulldogs. Matthew loved hunting, fishing, trapping and most anything outdoors. He attended the First Baptist Church. Matthew liked to work on his truck, making it a little faster, louder or brighter. He loved to pick on his sisters and play with his nephew. Matthew also enjoyed playing with his dog.
Matthew is survived by his parents Jeffery and Valerie Baird of Yale, sisters Rachel Schroeder and husband Will of Yale, Rebecca Baird and fiance Jake Elliot of Coweta, brother David Baird and wife Kimberly of Maryland, paternal grandparents Kenneth and Nancy Baird of Muskogee, Lauren Michaelsen of Grand Junction, Co., great grandmother Freda MIchaelsen of Grand Junction, Co., Aunts and Uncles Kathy Cooper, Brian Kris Baird and wife Sandra, Joshua David Baird, Jennifer Blair, Rhonda Michaelsen, Bruce Michaelsen and wife Melody, nieces and nephew Lane Schroeder, Sheridan, Sidney and Jedadiah Baird, and numerous other family and friends.
Matthew is preceded in death by his grandfather Ron Michaelsen, brother Israel Kristopher Baird, cousin Jesse Conner Cooper.
