Mary Sue "Beaver" Tedder was born December 7, 1941 in Porter, Oklahoma. She graduated from Porter High School. Mary Sue began working for the Wagoner County Treasurer in 1982. She served as the Wagoner County Treasurer from 1994 until her retirement in 2004. She loved retirement when she and husband, Bill, could do all those things they dreamed of, including spending time with their grandchildren, working on their land and raising cows.
Mary Sue was a servant of the people who elected her to office with the highest percent of votes ever recorded for the office of County Treasurer. She always managed to campaign door to door so she could personally meet the voters. Mary Sue enjoyed the interaction with people of all levels of society and lived her life as an example that each person is equally important as the next one. She was admired in her field statewide and was active in the Council of Officers and Deputies Association of Oklahoma and the County Treasurer's Association, as well as the Wagoner County Democratic Women. She was always supportive of Porter and the Peach Festival.
Mary Sue's great treasure was her family. She loved her children and grandchildren and spending time with them, and they will all miss her dearly. She departed this life late Thursday, December 8, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
