Mary's Story

Mary Lee Goad was born January 12, 1938, to John Monroe Monholland and Beulah (Clark) Monholland, in Park Hill, Oklahoma. She departed this earth on February 8, 2018, in Okay, Oklahoma, at the age of 80. Mary started her early education in Coweta and transferred to the Muskogee school district. She later married, Clarence Edward Goad.
Mary was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Muskogee, OK. She loved her pets and enjoyed sewing and gardening. Mary looked forward to watching her two favorite teams, the Chicago Cubs and the OU Sooners, play.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Monroe Monholland and Beulah (Clark) Monholland, husband, Clarence, brothers; Johnny Monholland and Billy Monholland, and sister, Norma Sue Hilbern.
Mary is survived by her sons; Steven "Wayne" Goad and spouse, Rebecca, of Haskell, OK, Dewayne Goad and spouse, Gina of Okay, OK. Her daughters; Debbie Underwood and Jana, of Okay, OK, Teresa Moore of Muskogee, OK, brother, Leon Monholland and spouse, Connie of Broken Arrow, OK, sister, Barbara McCarly of Muskogee, OK, eight grandchildren; Karl, Liz, Zach, Lexi, Sam, Ashlyn, Noah, Grayson, two great-grandchildren and her beloved dog, Abbie "2 Ton Tilly".
Viewing will be held on Thursday, February 15th, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., at Shipman Funeral Home in Wagoner, OK.
A service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, February 16, 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church in Muskogee, Ok with Pastor Steven Alexander officiating.
